I haven’t been too vocal about the elements of the New 52 I dislike, and trust me there are many, but this image of all the former and present “Robins” together is one of those great elements of the New 52.
EDIT: Except for the fact Steph isn’t there…

This Month in DC History
Surprise, it’s a boy! Batman learned he had a son named Damian in 2006. The good news: he missed the terrible two stage of his son’s life. The bad news: Damian doesn’t mind killing people.

What else happened in 2006? (It was so long ago.)

  • Superman got one year left to live in the series All Star Superman. He spent his time making Lois a Superwoman, downing some black kryptonite to walk on the bad side, and paled around with the Supermen of the future. Quite a bucket list.
  • The series 52 started to answer the question what happened in that year after the Infinite Crisis. Seen as a comic book equivalent to the TV show 24, fans would have to add the beep, beep, beep, beep at the end of each comic themselves.
  • Out of our dreams and into our car comics, Freddy Krueger got his own title. Slicing and dicing his way through a new group of teens, the comic made it harder for people to forget about him cause that’s how you defeat him, and make sure you don’t think of a purple elephant.
Know Your DCU: Damian Wayne
When Ra’s Al Ghul was introduced to the Batman mythos many decades ago, his mission was very simple: to have Bruce Wayne and his daughter Talia to procreate a worthy heir to the Al Ghul empire. Damian Wayne is the result of that mission, but was kept a secret from Bruce Wayne up until recently. Grown in an artificial womb to keep the pregnancy from “The Detective”, Talia had Damian trained by the League of Assassins and became a formidable martial artist with a background in every form of weaponry.
Once he became a pre-teen Talia left Damian in Batman’s capable hands. Bruce, having raised many pre-teen boys already, introduced Damian to the Dark Knight’s world. However, when he met Bruce’s adopted son Tim Drake, Damian took that as a challenge and tried to kill Tim while wearing an old Robin costume. Batman naturally was not happy.
Damian went missing for a short time after that, returning to be there as his father faced his final days. After Bruce’s apparent death, Damian wanted to be the next Batman. Dick Grayson, the first Robin, decided it was up to him to become Batman and trains Damian as the new Robin. Tim Drake was not too happy to learn he was replaced, but he has become his own hero in Red Robin. Now, with Bruce back, Damian will stay on as Dick Grayson’s sidekick in the pages of Batman and Robin, much to the happiness of the fans!
Damian’s future looks bright with Dick, but there could be some darkness headed his way. It was revealed that he would one day become Batman (well, possibly “a” Batman) in a future filled with new villains and the return of one of Bruce’s former enemies…

Confirmed: Dick Grayson & Bruce Wayne will both be Batman

The NY Post confirmed today what I had guessed a few days ago. The new information is this: Dick Grayson (with Damian Wayne at his side in some titles) will be the star of Batman, Detective Comics, and Batman and Robin. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne will be the headliner of Batman Inc. and Batman: The Dark Knight.

This is an interesting prospect, and I’m glad to see Grayson will still be Batman. What do you folks think of this news?
