This month in DC History
Speedy realized his name didn’t make sense because he wasn’t a speeder and became Arsenal in 1993. Ok the reason may not be true but it happened.

What else was going on in 1993?

Robin stepped on a crack and Bane broke Batman’s back during the Knightfall.
Robin also got his own series and not to be out done so did Catwoman.
And oh yeah, Superman died. It was a big deal but the saddest part is that he didn’t get to watch the first episode of Lois and Clark air, which also started that year. (He was back to living about a month later.)
