Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods is now available on Hulu. It’s a great documentary that gives you a peak into the mind of Grant Morrison.

Grant Morrison gives some insight into Action Comics #1, the book I’m most excited to read come September. If you want even more behind the scenes info for the September relaunch CLICK HERE to read an interview with Bob Harras and Eddie Berganza, who paint a much bigger picture of the new DCU.

SUPERMAN FAMILY REVEALED
Here it is, the cover for the first Action Comics #1 since 1938. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Grant Morrison does on the title. This is a must read title for me, one of the few that have come out of the reboot thus far.
As for Superman #1, it’ll be written by (but not drawn by) George Perez, however it does sport a cover featuring his artwork:

Not sure what the deal is with those “knee pads”, and it kinda looks like Superman is wearing Iron Man armor, but that could just be the coloring here. I’m glad he looks like Superman, but does this look like Supergirl?

The costume is very alien, which may fit her story:
Supergirl’s got the unpredictable behavior of a teenager, the same powers as Superman and none of his affection for the people of Earth. Writers Michael Green and Mike Johnson (Smallville, SUPERMAN/BATMAN) will team up with artist Mahmud Asrar to give a new take on the teenager from Krypton in SUPERGIRL #1.
I can get behind this story driven re-design, except maybe the boots. I don’t recall people on Krypton wearing knee cut out boots.
Then we this have Superboy:

But is this the same Superboy as the one we saw on the cover of Teen Titans? I’m assuming so, but you never can tell these days…
I’m very happy DC released these covers today. I assumed they would do it on Monday. I’ve been getting some messages about this artwork that was taken from the DC servers, but I didn’t want to post them and upset the creators who worked so hard to time these reveals.

July can not come soon enough!
Here is the official description for SUPERGODS:

From one of the most acclaimed and oracular writers in the world of comics comes a thrilling and provocative exploration of humankind’s great modern myth: the superhero.
For Grant Morrison, possibly the greatest of contemporary superhero storytellers, these heroes are not simply characters but powerful archetypes whose ongoing, decades-spanning story arcs reflect and predict the course of human existence: Through them, we tell the story of ourselves. In this exhilarating book, Morrison draws on history, art, mythology, and his own astonishing journeys through this alternate universe to provide the first true chronicle of the superhero-why they matter, why they will always be with us, and what they tell us about who we are.

Grant Morrison talks the future of Batman Inc.

“Bruce Wayne’s back from the dead with barely a moment to catch his breath before he must prepare for the battle of his life in BATMAN INC.

“On the way towards this ultimate confrontation, Batman and El Gaucho, Argentina’s No.1 crimebuster, face a terrifying new villain whose world-shaking masterplan stretches across 2 decades, 3 countries and 3 interlocked issues, which also feature Batwoman, a whole new team of British heroes and the debut of The Batman of Africa, in a dark and twisted super-espionage thriller.

“And waiting in the wings are team-ups with Chief-Man-of-Bats, Batgirl and a mind-blowing CGI adventure with Oracle, as piece by piece, we learn the secrets of Batman Inc. and find out what Bruce is REALLY up to!”

Cameron Stewart posted his amazing “pencils” from Batman and Robin #16 on his BLOG the other day, and I must say they are rather amazing. I would love to buy the original pages! What’s that? There are no pages for sale? Why?

From Cameron Stewart’s blog post: Unfortunately, none of these pages are for sale…as they don’t exist! I did this issue completely digitally, so there are no physical pages.

Wow, those are some very pretty digital drawings. I found the direction Stewart has added to “Insert Painting Here” pretty amusing.  If you want to see more of his work from Batman and Robin #16 like the above image, or this jem:
