Some people didn’t see that I was doing this for 2 weeks and were asking where some heroes/cities were. Well here they are. We’ll return to DC History next week. Once again the source for these locations is Atlas of the DC Universe

  • Colorado- Middleton (Martian Manhunter)
  • California- Gateway City (Wonder Woman), Star City (Green Arrow), Coast City (Green Lantern, Hal)
  • Illinois- Hub City (Blue Beetle, Garrett & possibly the Question but I don’t really know)
  • Louisiana- St. Roch (Hawkman & Hawkgirl)

This Month in DC History
Tim Drake was introduced in a retelling of Dick’s Origin story in 1989. He soon figured out that Batman and Bruce Wayne had taken the same amount of sick days and on the same days, deducing they were one in the same and blackmailed him to get the position of Robin a couple months later.

What else happened in 1989?

  • Batman got all serious when Grant Morrison and Dave McKean examined the rouges gallery of Arkham Asylum. Sadly Sweettooth didn’t make the cut and he still hasn’t appeared in any comics of Batman.
  • Hawkman got his own comic with a gritty reimagined history of Hawkworld. This story introduced Hawkwoman, who rode her fame into being the main Hawk of the Justice League Cartoon of 2001.
  • The Huntress got her own series and also a new daddy. Now Bruce not only lost his parents but lost his his Earth-2 daughter to a mob boss. Dem’s the breaks Bats.
And Now For Your Moment of Liefeld:
I’m not 100% sure of who “G.C.” is but he’s most assuredly spinning in his grave right now. In addition to the usual anatomical Liefeldism we’ve come to expect, what the hell is going on with that sword? That blade is crooked as hell, yo. Do you think the guy who smithed it is still in business? What kind of rating do you think he has on Yelp?
Wait… OH MY GOD HE’S NOT EVEN REALLY HOLDING THE SWORD. IT’S JUST KIND OF HALF-HEARTEDLY FLOATING AROUND THE VICINITY OF THAT DUDE’S FIST. IS IT MAGIC? IS HE A KEYBLADE MASTER? COOLEST SWORDSMITH EVER!!

Batman: The Brave and The Bold Video Game!

This looks like some fun filled side-scroller action! Might have to pick this up for the Wii when it hits stores this fall.
